There are several simple steps to beginning a pet portrait:

First, All work is created using acrylic paint. You can visit the pricing guide drop-down menu located in the Shop section HERE to select a canvas size option and input the number of animals you would like in your portrait. The corresponding price will be displayed. There, you can book a commission directly! Choose canvas or wood panel. Payment is processed once your artwork is begun. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Second, I acquire images of the subject(s) from the client or, in some cases, visit the client’s local home to take photos of the animal myself. I can work with hard copy images or digital ones. Natural light or daylight photos are preferred to flash photography or night time photos. (this ensures that the fur and eye colors are more natural and clear for me to see)

Third, I will check with you about any desired background colors and details in the background of your pet portrait. I can omit an existing background from the photo selected and create a new one with other colors and stylistics. Sometimes a pet portrait is a gift for a home or room with a certain color palette.

Fourth, We will confirm a due date and I will begin your customized painting. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the completion of your special pet portrait commission! Exceptions apply.
